| The historic town of Venice is known as 'Shark
Tooth Capital of the World' on account of the large number of fossilised
sharks teeth found along it's beaches. Located at the head of a maze
of inland waterways it is a popular boating and fishing centre. It
is bounded by miles of sandy beaches and top class golf courses are
prolific. Wildlife areas, where the natural Florida can be enjoyed,
are close at hand. The Italian style main street has many individual
shops and boutiques and the tree lined avenues add to it's elegance. |
| The cultural centre of Sarasota with it's art
galleries and museums is less than twenty miles to the north. Disney
World and the other Orlando theme parks are a two hour drive away, while
Tampa International Airport is seventy miles north via the spectacular
Skyway Bridge over Tampa Bay. |
